Executive Office of Labor & Workforce Development Launches Equity Dashboards

In previous presentations to the Roundtable, Secretary Rosalin Acosta and Undersecretary Jenn James have referenced a major effort to provide economic data on populations hardest hit by the pandemic, which has now been launched!
In September, the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development’s Department of Economic Research (DER) released a new and interactive way to view economic data on Massachusetts residents. The DER Equity Dashboards are a collection of data visualizations focusing on some of the groups that have been most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; Asian Americans, Black/African Americans, Hispanic and Latinos, and Women. These dashboards combine data from many separate sources including the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics into graphs and charts to make useful comparisons. Information that used to be widespread and generally inaccessible is now available in one user-friendly location. DER expects these dashboards to evolve over time, using feedback from the community and adding more demographics and adding more insights in the future.
