MBR’s Infrastructure Task Force advocates for infrastructure improvements in Massachusetts that are essential to economic development. Areas of focus include transportation improvements, capital projects prioritization, reviewing the state’s transportation governance structure, and identifying and financing the state’s long term transportation needs.
Members of the Task Force offer their managerial perspective on state education policy by:
- Leading public policy discussion about prioritization of transportation capital funding, primarily through the release of MBR’s report in 2003 on transportation planning which made recommendations on how to more fairly and transparently allocate capital dollars;
- Serving on the state’s Transportation Finance Commission, which was created from MBR’s 2003 report to analyze the state’s long term capital and operating needs for the transportation system, the funding gap that exists to meet those needs, and strategies for closing the gap.
- Pursuing “Shared Agenda” priorities: support investments in our transportation infrastructure, particularly in road and bridge repair and mass transit; implement the recommendations of Transportation Finance Commission.
